Nurse Leaders of Idaho

Editorial change for RN IDAHO

Posted 5 months ago by Randall Hudspeth, PhD, MBA, MS, APRN

Sydney Parker, MSN, RN, who has served as editor of RN IDAHO for the past four editions is relocating to Los Angeles with her husband and leaving her role as editor of RN IDAHO effective with the May 2019 edition (in the mail now).  She has been a faculty member at LCSC.  Sydney has done an outstanding job of managing the transition of RN IDAHO from the ANA-Idaho focused publication to a publication focused on the Idaho Center for Nursing with an expanded editorial board membership, focus on sharing news from all professional nursing organizations in Idaho, focus on nurse recognition as a means of nurse job satisfaction and retention and the focus on meeting EBSCO standards of peer review.  It has been a pleasure to work with her in this role.  We owe her a great thank you for remaining focused and managing all of the changes made for RN IDAHO in the past 9 months.  We wish her the best in her new location and in her ongoing nursing career.

We are pleased to announce the appointment of Sara Hawkins, PhD, RN, CPPS, as the new editor for RN IDAHO.  Sara is a member of the Nurse Leaders of Idaho board of directors representing region 7 and is the Director of Patient Safety at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center in Idaho Falls.  Sara holds a PhD in nursing from the University of Utah and she previously served as faculty and program director for the school of nursing at BYU-Idaho.

The contact information for RN IDAHO remains the same.
